High rise exposure type. h/H?

Post by Wasted Energy »

Hi All

Looked everywhere but cannot find a definition of h/H for the high rise exposure types.

I'm guessing h = the height of the opening and H the height of the building.

Could be wrong though.

Anyone actually know?

Actually found the definition in 'MacroFlo Calculation Methods'. It is indeed the ratio of the opening height to the building height.

I've been confused by this. Does the H: building height refer to the entire building, or just the floor in question. If you are talking about a high rise, then by definition the h/H is always going to be very very small, because the opening would probably be less than a typical floor to floor height. If H was the height of the floor in which the opening was placed, then that might make more sense.
