Fresh air flow rate

Post by mech52266 »

Hello,

Can I please ask for your help.. I have noticed that there are 2 methods for entering the fresh air flow rates in the model. I can either put it in the air exchange tab or in the systems tab (outdoor air supply). What I would like to know is if either of those takes precedence over the other? For example, if I use the air exchange tab to put the fresh air flow rates, do I need to set the outdoor air supply in the systems tab to 0? Or maybe the opposite?

Thank you!!

Yeah, I have same question too.

I did some tests on a simple model, just one room, result is quite strange.
In the system tab (for both ApSys and ApHVAC methodology), even untick or tick on "Include in room/zone loads analysis", Apache DOES NOT take into account this setting, everything in result are the same. I also try to set flow rate to 10ach ... but nothing happened.

It's better to put this setting in the air exchange tab, result is changed sensibly when air flow is changed.

I think system tab is more convenient and right place to do modification of outside airflow, so VE users need a 1st hotfix for 2018
