Cant Import model with novel/unusual constuction

Post by macpavee »

Hi

I have a set of simple to more complex models that i would like to simulate in VE-Pro which i have drawn in Sketchup 8. Although i can import them ok it is (as i understand and experience) impossible to re-assign constructions retrospectively to the room template (via apache - assign constructions - replace), which was first set by the sketchup - VE transfer as a default. or else i only have a choice of the usual materials, none of which are suitable.
I am able to set up the template in BTM.

Is there a way i can import either a non-assigned model into VE-Pro, or assign my original materials whilst in sketchup, import the template from VE-Pro to Sketchup and plugin or indeed is there any other way i can do this. other than redraw everything in ModelIT and assign as i go.

Hi,

I think you are nearly there. Import model to VE, switch into one of the thermal views, select room(s) and click the Assign Constructions button. You can then select the category, select the Assign Construction (when you select the construction in use the surfaces on the model image will turn red), you can then select the new Construction to replace it with.

Open Constructions Database (there are a few ways to do this but the ApCDB button on the Assign Constructions dialog is fine) and you can create your own Constructions which will then be available to assign to the model.
