Hi
I am entering the BTM and attempting to set the opening types. The default template only offers me an "external window opening" in all categories.
and when i next click on the 'macroflo openings database' i am told that "The system cannot find the file specified" then that "the parameter is incorrect" before the 'opening types' window opens only to have no options available in the drop down windows. Everything is blank!
additionally the 'import templates' button shows a range of different files but with no data in any of them.
have i failed to download something?
or missing something obvious in these early hours?
please help, i am running out of time.

Openings Database missing!!
Re: Openings Database missing!!
I wouldn't generally use the MacroFlo templates, you should review, create and edit your MacroFlo Opening Types and do all the assignments in the MacroFlo application view.
The errors you are describing don't sound healthy either, make sure you have the project saved on the local machine and you have full read and write access to it.
It may be that some corruption or error has occurred in this project so you should check if this behaviour occurs for a new project as well.
I've not seen this before so would expect it could be some error related to the files in this project (have a look in the MacroFlo folder for example this is where the Opening types are stored) rather than any installation problem.

Re: Openings Database missing!!
yeah there are no macroflo opening templates available - another little tease..
Would be a nice addition for the next update?

Re: Openings Database missing!!
Try saving you existing project under a more simpler name without any punctuation marks. It worked for me...

Re: Openings Database missing!!
I am having the exact same problem (the same dialogue boxes are popping up as were described before) - have any solutions been arrived at? It mostly happens after I have done a 'save as' of a file I have been working on, then the next is unable to properly open macroflo. I have not noticed any other problems with the files other than this with macroflo.
It seems as though if I copy the file folder and open from the new one, it continues to work, so perhaps it is just losing information; but any previously 'corrupted' (or something) files, I have not been able to recover.
Thanks for advice.

Hi Andy
wow...seems so long ago this problem (and so many since!)
PC's advise to use the applications menu and not go through the BTM to access the opening types seems to help, at least this is how i go about it now.
but my brain is throbbing at the moment with the amount of stuff i am trying to wade through and i just cant clearly recall this problem.
sorry, i have tried to stay up to date with my other posts and should have concluded this one more clearly.
all i can say is that this problem was soon resolved following the advise received....sinse it doesnt stick in my head!
if anything else comes to me i will post. sorry
i know also that early on i was not clearly programing in my weekly and yearly openings at first to allow me to apply the daily profiles i had created on to the model.

Re: Openings Database missing!!
It actually seems to work for me if I never do a 'save as' within the file of the whole thing. I have to exit the program, copy the folder, and open the new copy, then I have not had trouble with macroflo. Otherwise, neither going through the applications menu nor BTM works! Oh well, problem half solved. Thanks for your help

Hi,
seems this thread keeps getting missed.
It's strange you say manually copying the folder outwith VE works better than using Save As in the VE. In my experience Save As is the best way to be absolutely sure that the model and all of its data will be kept together.
So let me check I have the gist (jist? I'm not sure) of what you are describing ,correct me where I am wrong.
- new model
- add some rooms with openings
- Change to MacroFlo
- add some new openings types and assign these to the model
- click File >> Save As and save as a new name (in same location or in a new location?)
- In new version of project click on MacroFlo application and that's when the error appears?
I wonder if this is related to permissions on the project folders or where you are saving them? Is it on a network or on your own machine? What kind of name do you give the project? Any funny characters in the path at all? If you do the Save As and then close VE and browse to the new project folder, are the file sin the MacroFlo folder the same as the last version of the model? Rich click the new project folder and check Properties - it's not set to Read Only?

Re: Openings Database missing!!
MacroFlo doesn't like long file paths and file names. Perhaps try saving your model into a folder with a shorter path?
