Problem loading TMY2 climate data

Post by electromechanics »

Hi all,

I have a problem when I run Vista, ApacheHVAC and Vista pro.
I get the following error: IESFile.dll Unable to access file -\PER_PUNO_373953_TMY2.epw

This is a weather file I purchased from weather analytics.

When the simulation finishes, I do get weather data, but I am not sure if it is correct.

Any help would be much appreciated,

Regards,

Hi,

I haven't seen this for a simulation weather file before but it may be simply permissions being set on the new file. Have you got it saved in your shared content weather folder (I assume yes)? Check in there, right click it and just make sure it's not read only.

Another problem could be file name or length, it's unlikely but worth a try. Try renaming it to a short and simple name like test.epw and access it to see if that works in VE.

Do you get the error if you load it into Vista without running a sim? Try loading it and if that works then check the data to ensure it is all there.

If all that fails then let us know, I'll contact you and get a copy of the file so we can debug in here

Hi Phil,

I believe I may have found the problem, but I am not sure how to resolve it. In ApacheSim (dynamic Simulation) I have a number of old simulations which I have carried out with experimental TMY weather files. When I re-run ApacheSim (dynamic Simulation) it is looking for the old files which I have deleted. How do I go about deleting the old Results files of the thermal analysis?

I believe this will solve my problem.

Thank you for your help and fast response.

Kind regards,

Hi Phil,

I spoke too soon, I achieved my project without ticking the box to include results files and re-opened the project. It is working fine now.
