Modelling MVHR with summertime bypass

Post by R Tibenham »

Is there any means of modelling an MVHR unit with summertime bypass within ApacheSim? I.e, where the external air temperature is less than the internal air temperature the heat recovery is diabled.

There is the oppourtunity to use 'free cooling capacity' within the system tab, which i believe uses the external air temperature. Is this essentially the same thing?

You could use the HR under the system tab, on default it is set at 60% efficient and 21degC, This could be a derrivative of what you are searching for.

If you want to disable the heat recovery over summer you could create a yearly profile that disables the system during those days of the year. however I think using the HVAC module you will have much tighter control over this. I do not have much experience with that so I will pass you onto others. etc.
