Modelling Cool Slabs

Post by ubaka »

Hi, I'm taking up a validation exercise to compare the actual electricity usage in KWh of a building to the theoretical value obtained from the dynamic modelling software. Further to this, the actual data will be used to determine the best control methodology to use to control the building during Winter, Mid Season and Summer conditions; At the moment i plan to run numerous simulations firstly to validate the TAS model, compare the usage and finally set the different control methodologies to the building systems to determine which yields the least energy intensive operation over a test year.

The building has the facility to activate its ceiling with chilled water supplied from dry air coolers and I am wondering if anyone had any experience with modelling this type of system on IES? I'm some what new to IES so any help will be appreciated.
