Adding Trees From Component Library into ModelIT

Post by Soravit »

Hi,

I have been struggling to add trees that I have imported from the component library into ModelIT for topographical shading. I have tried to change their property (i.e. categories and component type) and it did not work. When I placed the trees on the model it seems to be okay but when I finalised it, there was an error said the component is not valid for placement as a windcatcher. However, I also changed it to Generic but it still did not work. Any suggestions?

Looking for forward for your reply :)

Regards,

Hi,

This probably isn't very clear in the interface but you only have to Finalize Performance components (i.e. Windcatchers), with regular components you only need to place them and that's it done.

I'll feed this back to Development as it could be less confusing here

Sorry to reincarnate an old topic, but what happens when you finalise the tree, I get errors saying the windcatcher is broken!

Makes the solar shading calcs run longer though.

So all we need to do is place the component and thats it?
