Dynamic insulation and PCMs

Post by masouds66 »

Hi there

I was wondering if IES has the ability of simulating dynamic insulation and phase change materials? could you please let me know how can I find/use it?

Thanks,
Masoud

As standard, no I don't think that is something IES models, however...

I think Monodraught are working on a plugin for IES which will allow modelling of their "Cool Phase" PCM system but I cannot find it on the IES website so it might not be available yet. I'd suggest speaking to the IES support dept for more information.

Monodraught have mentioned this plug-in to me also. The guy was adamant it had been released but I've not heard anything from IES.

Hello. Steve from Monodraught here. Just to let you know that Cool-phase is now available in the performance component feature, which is available as part of the IES-VE Pro 2013 Feature pack 1 release.

Download available here:

We have written a modelling procedure guide which I can send to you if you contact me at steve.barrett@monodraught.com

Regards

Steve
