lamp efficacy and LOR in SBEM IES VE (2013)

Post by Mirou »

Hi there

I have noticed in the IES (2013) release there is now a requirement to input both the lamp efficacy and the LOR (Light output ratio) using the SBEM method of calculation not DSM..
Does this means if the data for lighting exists as luminaire-lumens/circuit watts then I can input this figure and use a LOR of 1. Or I am still required to source the lamp efficacy and the LOR for the luminaire and input both figures.
Obviously if i have the latter I would use it but what if I have only the luminaire-lumens/circuit watts figure for the whole building (average luminaire-lumens/watts) which is the most likely to be for SBEM/Part L compliance work

For NCM lighting data in SBEM you are entering the lamp efficacy and the light output ratio in order to calculate the efficacy of the luminaire.

Luminaire Efficacy (lm/W) = Lamp Efficacy (lm/W) × Light Output Ratio

If you only have the Luminaire Efficacy then enter that and set the Light Output Ratio to 1.
