Shading device profile "error : shutter proffile"

Post by martin_jean »

Dear IES-VE user

I am trying to incorporate an internal shading device in the model. When I enter a percentage profile group with profile with a formula, I have that error in ApacheSim "error : shutter profile : invalid use of local room variable in formula profile WEEK0011". But when I use values number in my profile, I don't have problem.

Why formula profile don't work ?

Regard

Hi,

This issue is currently being looked into by our development team (ref 25910). At the moment I'm not sure if there is a technical reason the use of room variables in formula profiles to control blinds is being blocked but if not then the functionality should be reinstated in a future version of <VE>.

Hope this won't inconvenience you too much in the meantime.

Hi,

I get the same error: "Error: Shutter profile: invalid use of local room variable in formula profile WEEK0091" when I try to control the external shading device with a formula deênding on room conditions.

I would like, for example, the external device to lower for an incident radiation of 200W/m² but not if the room temperature is below 22°C. Is it possible to perform this control without setting a profile?

Thanks

I don't see any other way you could control this so closely, this is still a feature request for the development team but is clearly not a high priority

Hi,
I have a similar issue with a "Controller time switch profile", in which case I get the error message: "invalid use of local room variable in formula profile YEAR004" where I instruct the heating to switch on once the room temperature is below 19°C. I can run a simulation without the function of fans implemented, however as soon as I use the Apache HVAC link I receive that error message.
Any thoughts on how to fix that?
Many thanks,
Eleana

Look for a way to control it within the HVAC network rather than using the formula profile variables, you can put a sensor after the room and control base don that without errors

I am getting the same error - "invalid use of local room variable in formula profile" when I am trying to make the supply air temperature a function of room temperature.

Appears I am not the only one to encounter this error and a 'low priority' feature for IES obviously means it will be years away from being fixed...
