Exporting profiles

Post by Dimitri »

Hello!

I made a high definition profile for domestic occupancy, energy use etc (its a multitude of room profiles daily/weekly/annually). Is it possible to export the work ive done from the file and use it in another one? I basically need to copy-paste profiles from one project to another.

Thanks!

I am refusing to believe that everyone working with IES manually replicate profiles when starting a new project similar to the last one. Is there a way to make a selected profile be "system"?

Any replies would be greatly appreciated.

Try this.

Inside Apache open the "Building Template Manager" and then click "Import Templates" and then "Browse Template Database". Browse to the project folder which you wish to import from and then double click the .mtd file.

You should then see a list of templates which you are invited to "Copy To Project". Copy them all and the associated profiles will be imported along with them.

Within IES 2013 there is also a new feature which allows you to import settings / profiles from another model; it's called "Master Templates". It's much more flexible than the "Import Templates" method described by Complex Potential above.

It can be accessed through the Tools menu:

Tools > Master Templates > Master Template Wizard

That's a new one for me, thanks John.
