Hi,
Can anyone tell me how the Comfort Index is calculated? I know what the values mean, but I can't find any reference to how the calculation is performed. I'm particularly interested as at times I have a high room temperature (>28degC) but a comfort index of 10 i.e. warm, acceptable, while at other times at the same room temperature the comfort index is 11, unpleasantly warm. The first occasion is at a weekend i.e. lower occupancy, while the second is mid-week. The 'People Dissatisfied' value is higher for the second occasion than the first, so is the comfort index some kind of combination of PMV and PPD, perhaps taking occupancy into account?
Thanks a lot,
Rebecca

Re: Comfort Index Calculation
Hi Rebecca
I think you need document BS EN ISO 7730:2005 "Ergonomics of the thermal environment — Analytical determination and interpretation of thermal comfort using calculation of the PMV and PPD indices and local thermal comfort criteria"
The guy who does snappy titles was on holiday at the time of writing.
