Can you do few checks ?

1) Please check that there should not be any geometry issue (like intersection , non-planar surfaces or external holes etc.).
2) Please check that , in Model browser , there should not be any room below local shades. If it appears please change its property to first to local shade & then to 'Room' , once the room is placed at its proper position in model browser , you can try for simulation.
3) If you are using any older version of IES<VE> then I would strongly recommend you to use latest IES<VE> versions.

If the problme still persists , please send us a model at support@iesve.com , so that we can have a look at it.

I hope this has been of some help. ;)

Hi,

I am also having some problems with the link between Suncast and Apache.

I run SunCast and at the end I have no problems. There is no warnings and no errors.

Although, when I open Apache I don't have the option to link to Suncast calculations. It is written "Suncast calculations have not been perfomed".

So I tried to move the model closer to the origin, but I had the same problem again.

Do you know how to solve this problem?

Thank you.

Hi,

I have seen this on the simulation settings before where the SunCast link is not available - I haven't been able to pin down what causes it but for me if I restart VE then go into Apache the link is available and can be ticked.

If this doesn't work then check your project folder actually has the SunCast shading file saved - you need a file in the project SunCast folder with same name as the project and extension .shd for that link to activate.

Let me know if you still can't get it to work and we'll try investigate some more

Phil

Hi phil,

Thanks for your answer. Now it works. I only had to chance the name to the same of the project. :)

ah ok nice and easy to fix then 8-)

This might get changed in future so that there is a dropdown to allow you to choose between different shading files in the project (similar to the way the HVAC .asp input works) but for now it will look for a .shd with the same name as the project here.
