hi, how would you go about modeling a building on a sloping site?

Hi,

I guess the question you are asking here is how to define the parts of the building below ground level on a sloping surface?

First you have to separate the surfaces along the ground plane, I would normally advise to do this using the Divide Space tool. You can cut along the slope of the ground and leave the sub-rooms connect as one room but the surfaces are can be assigned different properties (constructions and adjacent condition). Just make sure you use the remove partitions option!

Next to define the below ground surfaces you have to go down to each surface and assign the adjacent condition to be temp from profile, then you can load the ground temperature profile into ApPro and assign it here. Then these surfaces are considered underground and don't get solar gains, have adjacent ground temp assigned.

Hope this answers your query, if I misunderstood let me know
