Choosing radiator in room

Post by brg »

I am trying to select a radiator which is suitable for a room. I can select the model and size after i run the CIBSE loads in APache. But each time i check the radiator list, i see the chosen radiator but the number of radiator i the room is '0'.

Why is that?

Also, i have drawn the radiator in the model using the CompLib module.

Am I doing it wrong?

Appreciate any help on this.

Many Thanks

Hi there

1) Radiator Selection
I really don't trust the radiator section within VE-Vista if I'm completely honest so I think this could be one of two things:
a) You may not be doing something quite right.
b) There's a bug with that module.

Maybe best to get one of the IES support team involved at this point to check that out.

2) CompLib
Ahha... you've assumed that there is a connection between the components and anything that actually happens in the thermal side of things. The Components can really be thought of as simply visual components (Exception: CFD) that have no bearing on your model's performance. I'd suggest ignoring these things unless you are doing some daylighting or visualisations (until you decide on some CFD then get some training from the IES guys).

Hopefully someone else will come in on the Radiator thing ni VE-Vista - it's "not my bag baby".

Zap.
