Hi,

I am using IES VE 5.9.1
I am trying to construct my model with DXF drawing.
I attach the DXF drawing to the MODELIT however The construct DXF button is not active.
Also the construct DXF button in the utilities pull down menu is not active.
Is anybody know the reason for that and how can I overcome this?

Thanks,

Murat

Dear Murat,
The 'Construct DXF' button & 'Construct DXF' action from the 'Tool' gets active when we attach a DXF file & gets de-active when the DXF is detached.
The 'Construct DXF' would not work if the DXF file contains openings , it will only work when
1) The DXF file is completely closed (External loops must be closed).
2) All internal spaces or rooms in the drawing must have a closed.
3) All rooms to be included in the generated model must have one text label located within the room perimeter.

Dear vajindarladdad,

Thank you for your reply.
I have fix it.
The problem was because I did not put texts in the room spaces.
Thanks again.

Hi,

I am trying to create my 3D model from dxf drawings.
I have attached the dxf file to the ModelIT and I have created the model.
However the rooms are not adjacent with each other. They become adjacent to exterior.
Although there are partitions between the rooms gaps appear instead of partitons.
This happens although I set the maximum horizontal seperation greater than the maximum wall thicknes.
Do you have any idea what might cause this?

Murat

Hi there,

I am not aware of any problem doing this in <VE> 5.9. Can you try update the Adjacency Separation distance, then click the OK button. After you have done this type "rebuild" into the ModelIT key-in (at top left of the workspace below the colour and layer dropdowns) then hit Enter.

Try that and see if the adjacencies are now correctly recognised (just double check the distance between walls is within the Adjacency separation distance as well (to make sure!).
