Modelling different zones

When modelling an open plan building, should we divide the space up into zones and model each zone as a separate space, i.e. 4m external strip, internal zone, etc? Or can this be done through the partition tool (or some other tool)?

Separated zone make better analysis, use internal air partition for material of windows (like a virtual window)
