Hi There,

I'm new to the site so please be patient...

When I attach my first floor DXF file and start the model it process the building seems to be far away, i.e. not directly ontop of the ground floor....

Also when using an extruded shape can anyone please advise the best method of connecting the shapes as I'm finding this a bit of a pain....

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Regards,

Hi,
You have to change the Plane(m/ft) from Shape settings form to the height of the ground floor.

For drawing an extruded shape correctly , I would advise you to select the 'Grid' checkBox from 'Lock' form which appers after clicking 'Lock settings' button from the toolbar.
The modelIT user guide will give you a complete explaination about all the locks.

Thanks Vajindar,

Just to add - if when you attach the dxf the model is far from the origin then you should set the origin in the drawing before it's exported (ensure the bottom left corner of the building is at (0,0,0). Alternatively just draw the model anyway then move the whole thing over to the origin when you are finished tracing the DXF.
