VFD Fans?

VFD Fans?

Post by rbg2 »

Hi, can anyone tell me how to create VFD fans in an Apache HVAC network?
In the system I am modeling the supply fan is VFD based on duct static pressure.
I tried to add a flow rate controller to the fan that sensed pressure but that is not one of the options available to control.

Is there any other way of controlling the flow rate like this?
Thanks!

Regarding VFD fans, all that means to IES is that the efficiencies will be different, so ensure the fan's operating characteristics from an efficiency standpoint are representative. As for control based on static pressure, in ApacheHVAC the fan flowrate is either directly controlled or is controlled based on things like room conditions. My advice for you is to look at what you hope to achieve with ApacheHVAC and use the tools it makes available to you. ApacheHVAC is a system simulator only to the extent that it is more representative and flexible than Apache Systems, but an exact control logic replication of real-world systems, that it is not.
