Creating HVAC system

Post by ew0187 »

I need to follow specific guidelines from ASHRAE 90.1 Appendix G, and i am having an incredibly difficult time find where to input the system requirement.

- VAV with parallel fan power boxes
- Equipment capacity should be oversize 15% for cooling, 25% for heating
- Design airflow rates: supply air-to-room-air temperature difference of 20 degrees F
- Fan Brake Horsepower: 96
- Centrifugal Chiller:
2 chillers sized equally,
5.55 COP
Pump Power: 22 W/gpm
-Chilled Water Supply Temp Reset: base on outdoor dry-bulb temp with following schedules: 44*F @ 80*F or above, 54*F @ 60*F or below, and ramped linearly between 44*F and 54*F @ temperatures between 80*F and 60*F

VAV parallel fan power boxes: sized at 50% of peak design flow rate, and modeled with .35 W/cfm fan power.
- variable speed drives

Please let me know i you can help me set up this particular system, i will appreciate as much help as i can get

Step by step

You should try 1 zone for testing and understanding ApHVAC first. Then extend/add step by step other component and check result in your system/zone.
