"Salford Run-time Library. Stack Overflow"

I have recently purchased a student version of IES-VE and so understand I don't have access to technical support.

However, just trying to run a simulation in ApacheSim is proving impossible. After modeling a simple box, everything is default settings.

I try to run ApacheSim with all default time-step, reporting interval, preconditioning period, etc. settings and all I see is an empty progress bar. At first I thought for some reason it was just taking a long time, so I let it run, and finally after at least 30 min, maybe more I get:

"Salford run-time library.
Stack Overflow: Re-link program with bigger stack value.
(stack:reserve, commit)
Will attempt to trace back."

I uninstalled IES-VE and re-installed, but I seem to be having the same problem.

Any thoughts/advice?

Thanks very much.

Hi,
There could be few reasons.
1) Running project on network drive.
Solution: Try to save your project on C: drive & give a try for simulation. (Please do not save your project on My Document or Desktop)

2) Your PC is below minimum system specification.
Solution: Create a cab file of the project & try running it on another machine.
Upgrade your computer to meet the system specification.

3) Permission issue or the file is locked:
Solution: Try to save (using File >> Save as...) your project on C: drive & give a try for simulation. (Please do not save your project on My Document or Desktop). Also try to your file-path as simple as possible.(Should not contain any special character in the file-path, Ex: C:\PROJECTS\proj.mit)

Unfortunately none of these recommendations have resolved the issue. My PC exceeds minimum standards. I am running the project file from a location on C:\PROJECTS with full administrator privileges. The only thing on my system slightly out of the ordinary is I am using a Solid State Drive (SSD) on C:\ (running Windows XP x64).

I will try to install IES-VE on a different computer.

Thanks for your reply.

Hi,
You can send me your cab file. I will have a look at it , right now.

There is really nothing about the file itself that I could imagine would cause a problem. I just sketched a box...

I have unfortunately created more problems for myself by running IESClean.exe (my license was still counting down?) and now have only the model viewer.

Thanks for your help but perhaps this software just isn't for me. I will send a .cab file just in case anyway.

Hi,
You should have run IESFix.exe , I guess.
You can buy 'support credits' to get a help from 'IES Technical Support'.

Hi,

The support team are currently investigating this and I've sent you a mail to request a full troubleshooting report. If we find a solution to this then myself or Vajindar will be sure to post back here.

Phil

Thank you, I look forward to hearing your response. Please let me know if I can give you any more information about my system and if there are error logs, etc. that might be useful.

Best wishes,
