hey Pcully

thanks for your input, but if could pick your brains again here, with solar shading for windows. a kinda shutter like arrangement i have seen it done when on ies Ireland presentations with john glesson and i think it was a middle east building if i remember correct and wondering how it is done were, example the different types of shading for the window were the original one shown to use in uni by K.beattie is the slab like shading but i have seen other type of shading for windows in power points from Mr Glesson were it is done in a shutter like appearance that covers over the window i am just curious as to how that its done as i want to try and do it on sim to see the difference with them both as the irish sun is at different angles if u can help it would be great thanks

HI,

I think I gave a similar answer before to viewtopic.php?f=173&t=1455&sid=f7d22252 ... a55f156de9 but it sounds like you just want to draw this on the model as a shading device.

You draw these in ModelIT just like you would draw rooms but change the Type dropdown (on Shape Settings) to Local Shade. This way you can add the physical shading devices and they are not considered as rooms, the only affect they have is to reduce solar again in any windows they shelter.

Doing it this way also means you get the visuals in ModelViewer.
