Hello everyone,
Firstly please accept our apologies that you are having problems with the plug-in.
mpwolcott you are correct in that the error is an IE error and may be related, however, we have seen that this is unlikely.
We have found that the reason this is happening is due to a MSXML patch needing to be installed and it has solved problems for other users who have encountered this issue, please follow the instructions below. This should solve your issue.
The SketchUp plugin requires MSXML version 6.0 modules to be installed. These should be installed automatically with Windows updates but some users will have these switched off.
There are 2 ways you may correct this, either:
a) Install MSXML services http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en [^]
b) Install Windows XP sp3
Please let me know if this successfully corrects the problem you are seeing.
Kind regards
Stuart

Plugin not fully working for me...
Re: Plugin not fully working for me...
Hey - could you try XP Service Pack 3? SP2 is a bit out of date now I think.

Re: Plugin not fully working for me...
i downloaded the latest plugin from the site as per the SketchUp show. It's not letting me install . Installation instructions are hard to find by the way. ..where are they?". I just clicked to run the msi and I get the message
"must have the IES VE 6.0 installed before installing this software" --which I don't have and can't seem to find.
please help.
Thx,

Re: Plugin not fully working for me...
Hi David,
Sorry we don't have installation instructions for the SketchUp plug-in. You were right to run the .msi installer.
As you have found the full SketchUp plug-in requires the <VE> to be installed (current version 2 SketchUp plug-in requires <VE> 6.0.3). You can download the <VE> and <VE> Shared Content from the download centre on our website at http://www.iesve.com/Support/Download-C ... aSType=330.
If you are only interested in the SketchUp plug-in, free VE-Ware Energy calculation tool and VE-Toolkits then you may prefer to install the standalone VE-Ware plug-in. You can register for this and download it at http://www.iesve.com/Software/Free-and- ... re/VE-Ware
This does not require any <VE> installation other than the standalone VE-Ware plug-in which will install to any installation of Autodesk Revit MEP or Architecture 2008/2009/2010 or Goggle SketchUp 6 or 7
Hope this clarifies a bit, I will review the current guidance we issue to ensure that installation guidance notes are available for the plug-ins.
Phil
