Hi,
I have a model of a school (fairly large and complicated - 2500 m2 floor area and approx. 100 rooms) that I have been working to achieve accurate energy data from in the recent past. I have hit a problem with the DHW specification however.
My DHW system is set up with a storage cylinder and secondary circulation as advised in the Apache Sys/Calc manuals. I have tried specifying DHW consumption using both 'use occupancy profile' and 'use independent profile' options but a curious issue has arisen. Some rooms show DHW loads and consumption in Vista, while others do not. This appears to be at random despite consistency of application across the set of room templates.
The 'independent profile' option seems to have less likelihood of being registered by Vista, but even with occupancy based profiles (and appropriate people internal gain specification) some rooms simply do not show any consumption.
I have also tried amalgamating all the hot water use into 1-2 rooms with independent profiles but this has a similar null result.
Has anyone else come across this problem and/or have an understanding of what is causing it?
Thanks for your help.
Steve

Re: DHW missing
Hi Steve,
This sounds quite odd, all I can really suggest is to review all your inputs and make sure if you are defining the systems and profiles in Building Template Manager that these templates are actually in use in the model.
Try some simple tests to ensure you are setting things up correctly and seeing the expected results and if you are confident your model is correct let me know - I'll contact you to send me the model over and I'll take a quick look.
