Hi

Normally, a window open to 90 degrees, the Aerodynamic Area should be between 60% and 70%.
In VE6.3, the Aerodynamic Area up to 103%. While in VE6.2, the Aerodynamic Area was between 60% and 70%.

I may be wrong, but I think it's a mistake in VE6.3.

Regards

Hi,

As far as I'm aware the calculation of Aerodynamic Area is improved in VE 6.3 (it had been wrong in 6.2). I don't have all the details to hand I'm afraid (was related to the way we were accounting for the coefficient of discharge).

The Release Note covering this:

Revision to calculation of Equivalent Orifice Area [ID-0038855]:- The MacroFlo Opening Types calculations have been revised to correctly account for discharge coefficient when calculating the Equivalent orifice area.
For clarification equivalent orifice area is defined as the area of a sharp-edged orifice which would give the same flow as the actual opening.

We intend to update the MacroFlo manual & calc methods docs at some point to reflect this change so hopefully this will clarify things some more. Sorry I can't provide more details at the moment.
