Hello

I have tried to model an overhang made of glass. I have tried creating a new block both with a thickness and without, but i cannot put in a window at the floor. Do you have any suggestions how i can make the overhang? I am using it to reduce the amount of sun comming through during summer without reducing the light completely.

Kind Regards

ARGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why they don't do this I'll never know.

For daylighting it's fine - draw a box zone, make all surfaces 100% holes bar the one you want to be glass and you are high as a hippy in a helicopter.

Thermal it's a whole lot worse.
1) adjust g-value of glass to account for it - C**P
2) do (thin) box zone again but have doors instead of holes and hope that the big glass part is more of an effect than the shading from the doors - double C**P. Need to make sure you make this a void so you don't start getting surface temp probs.

Better still... IES - give us glass shades!!!!! And semi-opaque canvas coverings!!!!!

I wonder if the shading out of date check could ignore active/inactive layers.... that way I could set up a room (glass shade ceiling with holes) that was active for SunCast but inactive for Apache. Ah wait... SunCast doesn't know about transmittance does it - only sunlit area. Damit.

Zap out!
