Water loop with water heat pump

Post by loulou »

Hi,

I'm new user of HVAC, I need some lights to simulate my mall, using VE 6.4:

- one boiler to heat the water loop and cooling tower to refresh it. My water loop deserve radiators for entrance and heat pumps (water/air) and then fancoils in my shops.

in HVAC toolbar, we have only Air source heat pump (ASHP) and not water source heat pump (WSHP), any idea how to simulate my WSHP?

If you have any tips for my system, or If you've already created a schematic with this system, feel free to share ;) !

Cheers

Hi,

I believe one of our Support Consultants has already helped you out with this one so copying the response here for reference

Create another part load heat source to represent the heat pumps. Because you cannot explicitly model water source heat pumps at this moment, you will have to assume a constant source water temperature and create a performance curve based on that. Basically the efficiency of the heat pumps will only be able to vary with load, not with source water temperature. Now you can assign this part load heat source to the fan coil units.

We are looking into providing a Water Source Heat Pump model in ApacheHVAC but the development team are still working on this so I am unable to confirm when this will be available.
