Heat losses

Post by kczyze »

I would like to ask, what should I do get separately heat losses (values and graphs) (thorugh walls, roofs, etc..) and all the heat gains (solar, people, technology,...)

I would be very thankful for any answer,

Hi,

Nice easy one, before you run your simulation click on the Output options dialog on the Apache Simulation settings dialog. In Detailed output for selected rooms section highlight your rooms and ensure you select Internal gains breakdown and Conduction gains breakdown. Now when you select rooms in the model in Vista you will see the variables you require are available.

Thank you very much for the answer, but I still can't find values for heat losses separately for roofs, walls and floors are there any pie charts avaliable?
Waiting for your reply.

Hi,

When you run with the output options I suggested before then selecting any room (or set of rooms) in Vista you will be able to get for example Conduction gain - roof, when this is negative it represents the heat loss through the roof.

There is no option to generate a pie chart in Vista but you can export the data then use Excel to create any charts you require.

Hi,

I have tried running this, but when i view my results on vista under 'conduction gain' there is 'No data to plot.' Would you know what are the reasons for this?

Thanks

Hi,

If you had set the detailed output option then you wouldn't see a variable simply called "Conduction gain" instead you will have "Conduction gain - internal wall", "Conduction gain - internal glazing" etc as well as the usual "External conduction gain" and "internal conduction gain".

Check you have a results file elected in Vista and look for these variables when you select a room, I'm sure they will be there somewhere
