Exhaust ventilation

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide bulk airflow analysis for passive/hybrid ventilation system design and simulation.

Exhaust ventilation

Post by dawar »

Hi,
Is it possible to simulate the exhaust ventilation of spaces, where inlet is through infiltration of the building?

I used ApacheHVAC + MacroFlo, but as I understand you need to have inlet/outlet ventilation and only if there is some difference in value it is covered with MacroFlo.

Also do I then assign modulating profile same as the one for mechanical ventilation? What if windows are constantly closed, so any infiltration is through cracks? And crack length, how to select right one if i know the type and size of window?

Thank you

Hi dawar,

you can setup exhaust only systems in ApacheHVAC by using the parking garage exhaust prototype system. Once you import the system, allocate 0 l/s in the flow controller at the supply end. At the exhaust end you can allocate whatever the flow rates you need exhausted.

Hope this helps.

Hello Dawar,
Inlet air is heated and cooled to maintain comfort for building occupants. I suggest you to seek advice from an technician, he will guide you better. Hope this will help you.
