Hi guys,
My models have many partitioned rooms in order to have daylight values measured in as many rooms as I needed. When sensors are place by default, they are not always placed exactly in the middle of the room, and then I assume the daylight values from one model to another are not really comparable. That is why I need to place all sensors exatly in the centre of the rooms. I am just entering the right coordenates for the sensors but takes very long time due to the number of rooms and floors my models have. I wonder if there is a quicker way to set them in the middle. Do you know any easier way?? I have had a look at the user guides but I couldn't find anything regarding this.
Thank you in advance.
Julian
Light sensors placement
Re: Light sensors placement
Hi,
There is one way you can modify these positions outwith the RadianceIES interface that you may find faster but you'll have to be careful while doing this.
- On the Sensor Settings tab hit Save Sensors
- save the *.sen file in your project Radiance folder
- find the .sen file and open with notepad (or any text editor)
- compare a few of the rows to understand the format the data is in and then you can start to modify this for each sensor (maybe excel would be a fast way to do it, not sure)
- when finished editing save it as any name .sen
- on Radiance click the Read Sensors button and choose your file -> all sensors will be updated
