CIBSE or EN-ISO or ASHRAE?

Post by SakuraOno »

Hi,

so I know the U-value of the constructions can be calculated either via CIBSE or EN-ISO or ASHRAE methods. and we can see the difference they make by using the drop down menu in the construction dialogue. My question is, which method's U-value is actually used in the calculation when we do ApacheSIM analysis?

Thanks!

HI there

It doesn't use any u-value... they are there for us humans to worry about. Apache handles the thermal transmittance of the construction through first principles from the make-up of the fabric.
