Hello IES

I was try to model daylight saving for a model in the IES using radiance, a error window pop up with " error rading illuminance file, line xx" when i start Apache Simulation. I have tried look into the illuminance file and it looks OK to me. Has anyone come across with this problem before?

Hi,

Does the model have any inactive zones? This could be room snot included in the analysis or on a layer that is switched off...I've heard before that this can throw the Radiance illuminance file out of sync with the model.

Any other changes you might have made since you ran the Radiance calcs? Have a look at the Radiance file and see if the number of rooms matches up with the number of rooms in the project.

If you can't resolve this then let me know and I'll contact you to get a copy of the project from you and I can take a look this week

I am facing the same "error reading illuminance file" problem with running Apache simulation with Radiance Link.
I have tried deleting all unused rooms but it still doesnt work. Could someone please guide me to how I can open the
illuminance file to match the room settings with those in my model?

I have the same problem now. -specifically line 234 for me

the previous recommendations haven't worked nor has a re-run and re-save of the tests helped.

i have started trying to find and delete older files to see if that helps, my thought is that Apache sim is by default going to the first and no longer relevant file.
but i am not too sure which file the illuminace error is coming from.

i'm considering deleting the whole radiance folder and starting again....unless someone can give better guidance...soon.

wouldnt recommend it as everything got quite confused.



but (on the original file) re-running the sensor simulation in radiance but for apache did work, although it kept crashing at first. -as radiance seems to like to do ...a lot.
running the 'radiance' file simulation first before the 'apache' file perhaps helped as maybe did overwriting the original file and backing it up when prompted. i say perhaps as i tried different combinations without success and this process worked for me.
