"There appears to be an issue with the MacroFlo Arrow Data"

Works in conjunction with ApacheSim to provide bulk airflow analysis for passive/hybrid ventilation system design and simulation.

"There appears to be an issue with the MacroFlo Arrow Data"

Post by hartlanj »

Hi All,

I am currently trying to investigate natural ventilation.

I have assigned my opening devices and am currently have a constantly open profile. I can see that the openings are open in Vista and can establish the volume of air through each of the openings but in VistaPro when i try and plot the MacroFlo arrows i get the below error;

"There appears to be an issue with the MacroFlo Arrow Data Please inspect the Hole data for this surface in the current .aps results file."

The openings are located above the a hole in the ceiling of the room.

Anyone experienced this before?

Regards.

Hi,

I've seen this before, MacroFlo/Apache has a problem where you have connected rooms as it has a hole which it reads as having the same room on each side. It doesn't affect the calculated airflows so the results are ok but it means there is no data to plot for that hole so it doesn't show the arrows for the room. It's a (not great) temporary solution until something better can be put in place to deal with this.

My best workaround advice is to separate you rooms again, then re-run the sim and you can view the arrows for the external openings you are actually interested in.
