Hi guys,

I'm currently working in a project in IES VE (version 6.4.0.8) and when i'm trying to perform an Apache HVAC Loads Calculation it give me back always this error:

"ACCESS VIOLATION

The instruction at adress 0044ae93 attempted to read from location a3dc83c4

0044ae20 HTUNIT [+0073]
00491ec0 SIMUL2 [+076c]
0049d8a0 SSCALC [+08bc]
00407c60 ANAPH [+01da]
00491d40 SIM [+00db]
00412fd0 CALCS [+02e9]
00461df5 CALCSZ [+0060]
00408c70 main [+0211]"

I'm in a hurry to finish this phase of the project and i' ve no idea about what could be causing this error.

Any help please?!

P.S.: This project is very huge so i've started working on that in earlier versions of IES. I really don't know if this is relevant, but is just an additional information.

Thanks a lot in advance.

Hi,

Unfortunately I don't have a magic answer that fixes all these kinds of errors. What we've seen in the past is that it is related to some invalid data in the model that is causing the VE problems.

I'd go down two routes though:

First rule out any kind of permissions or memory errors. Save file using VE Save As to a new location on our machine local C: Drive and make sure you have full read and write permissions to that area.

If it still fails then you need to start going through the model to find the problematic data. There's hints for a similar issue here that should help http://www2.iesve.com/content/kb/Access ... ghting.pdf.
Best guidance I can give generally on this is to iterate through, switch off simulation links (SunCast, ApacheHVAC etc) to rule these out, then start to dig through rooms (go by deleting groups at a time until it runs) so you can isolate the problem areas.

Hope this helps, good luck

Phil
