Solar shadings effect

Hello,

I have a couple of question about Suncast module.

First, I know that Suncast gives insolation (external and internal). However, when automatic louvres are set up for windows in Apache Construction database (with transmission factor), we cannot see their effect as external insolation. My question is: how can we see their effect ? I know I could draw them but they would then no longer be automatic.

My second question is: what is the cross just right to the printer icone in the flexgrid. A .txt pops up with "average"...average of altitude fo the sun??

thanks for your help,

Dav

Hi,

I believe the only way to see the effect of shading devices applied via Constructions is in apache simulation results. This uses the solar results from the simulation weather file (or from Suncast when you have used this) and then Apache calculates the status and effect of the shading device you have specified for each timestep and adjusts accordingly.

You're right that the only other option you have is to model these as fixed shading devices and then you could observe the impact in SunCast.

The average is just the insolation data presented as an average percent area for that period (e.g. month/season etc). So for example if 100% of a surface gets sunlight in April at 9:00, 10:00, 11:00, 12:00 and then 0% for 13:00, 14:00, 15:00 and 16:00 then the avg for April is 50%
