DHW load per sf in Apache

Post by enerGwizz »

I just found out through some trial and error that, when I want to specify my own DHW profile in the thermal template within Apache, the DHW consumption MUST be entered per space as gal/hr. If you're linking the DHW to the occupancy profile (which would be way off for any residential building), you have the option to specify as gal/(hr-occ), which makes much more sense. There's no way I'm calculating the load for each space and entering it there, so I just have to take my building's total DHW load, divide by the number of spaces and enter that.

The work-around works, but it's annoying and could get you into trouble if adding/removing spaces.
