Hello,
I'm doing ApacheSim; and I've selected the breakdown of the conduction gains in output options. My question is, is there an overlap between "solar gain" and "conduction gain-external glazing"?
because in the manual/documentation provided by IES, it says "solar gain: solar radiation absorbed on the internal surfaces of the room, plus solar radiation absorbed in glazing and transferred to the room by conduction"
so if I want to find the TOTAL gain of the room, I can't simply just add everything up because that would mean that I counted the "conduction gain-external glazing twice" ?
does someone know the details on this and can clarify?
thanks!
What does "Solar Gain" include?

I have also the same question... anyone?

from a previous Tech Support response on same topic Alex from the team gave this:
PhilThe solar gain and conduction gains are reported separately. The heat absorbed by the glass and re-emitted into the space is taken into account in the solar gain value. Conduction gain as a result of temperature difference etc is reported separately. The cooling load as determined by apache will take these factors into account.
