ASHRAE 90.1 Navigator - Exterior lighting

Hello,

I'm trying to input some data related to exterior lighting in the exterior lighting tab of ASHRAE 90.1 Navigator but I didn't understand one thing.

In the non-tradable surfaces, when I type the area corresponding to an especific use, it calculates automatically the baseline power. But then, when I type the proposed power, the baseline power changes to the value that I had typed to the proposed model.

Do you know why this happens?

Currently, I'm using the VE-2012.

Regards,

Luana,
when you enter the area, the maximum allowed wattage is calculated.
You installed wattage must be less. (this is part of mandatory provisions)
For energy modeling: for all nontradeable surfaces: the baseline wattage is equaled to the proposed wattage, otherwise you could claim huge benefits, e.g. if you illuminate a giant piece of facade with just one luminaire.

hope this helps!

Hi Johannes,

Thanks for your answer.

In my case, the proposed power is smaller than the baseline power. So, when I type the proposed power, the baseline power changes to the proposed one.

Do you know where I can find something related to what you wrote about energy modeling ? (for all nontradeable surfaces: the baseline wattage is equaled to the proposed wattage, otherwise you could claim huge benefits, e.g. if you illuminate a giant piece of facade with just one luminaire)

Regards,

Luana
