Shading effect for components

Post by Soravit »

Hi,

I have modeled an external light shelf as a component and I have tried to run a suncast simulation to see the shading effect from the light shelf. However, the simulation seems to ignore the component.

How can I include the shading effect of the components in the suncast simulation?

Is there a button to check like "Use Components" in RadianceIES for Suncast Simulation?

Regards,

Hi Soravit,

Components aren’t used within SunCast only Local shading (and other shading options).

You could try using local shading as simple components but that isn’t what the SunCast system is designed for – it’s chief purpose is for providing solar data for the thermal engine to predict gains and show the effect of shading.

I hope this helps.
