System Prototype & Sizing Navigator

Post by Cristian »

Hello all,

I am working on a project and i come to this ded end to me where i can not go forward.
I am trying to find out the cooling and heating loads for a room so i know what equipment to install there.
1. My first step was to run the ASHRAE LOADS with analysis type room and apache system loads. at this point my results are files that have the extension .htg and .clg this files i can view the trhu Vista module by clicking the "Heating and cooling report" button
2. My second step is to run the AHRAE LOADS with analysis type ApacheHVAC system loads this is linked to my system that i have created based on the valuse that i got from the first run, at this point my results are stored in a new type of file that have the extension .htn and .cln but this files i can not see them with Vista module anymore.
3. In order to see those results i had to go to System Prototype & Sizing Navigator but i am stuck becasue this is working only for prototype systems not for my custom fancoil system.

The question is how can i make a sizing report of my rooms and a 62.1 report if System Prototype & Sizing Navigator is working only for prototype systems and also how can i see the results from the files that has the extension .htn and cln.

I want to see this results because i want to know what funcoil to install in each room in order to cover the heat loss and cooling load.

Thank you

P.S.
If System Prototype & Sizing Navigator is working only for prototype systems that means ASHRAE 90.1 (PRM) Navigator will not work also for my simplyfied funcoil system so i will not be able to do my LEED review for the building ?

In my case the building is based on a fancoil system with AHU for the fresh air, how can i do a LEED review for my building ?

Hi
according to my understanding, the proposed model shall be following selection data while the baseline/reference model follows sizing result.
In such a case, you only need to build-up baseline and run autosizing process.
For proposed model, you might want to do the sizing if you are the M&E engineer. Then you need to configure the prototype systems and strip the useless controller and may need to change the load spreadsheet a little bit.
Hope it helps a little bit.
Cheers
