Customized Weather files

Hi,

I'm running simulations for a building in Singapore. However the weather data in the SingaporeIWEC.fwt weather file varies from the actual weather data such as dry bulb temperature and solar radiation and etc measured on site.

What are the other actual parameters that I would need to generate a customized weather file.

And if I change the parameters in an existing cooling load weather data in "design weather data tab" and when I clicked on "add to custom database" it didn't show the dialog box to save the customized cooling load data. What would be the possible reasons?

Kindly advise.

Thank you.

Hi,

You can find information on creating custom weather files as well as many other sources of simulation weather files that can be used in VE on our Support Centre webpage:

I have the same problem as the original post. I have followed the directions in the help files for creating custom weather files, but when I click "Add to custom database," nothing happens. No dialog box appears to allow saving the custom file. This is a big problem as I really must create some custom weather files for my project. Thank you.

Unfortunately this does seem to be malfunctioning but it has been logged to be fixed for the next release hopefully. Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hi

I'm having the same issues raised by cskelhorn dated Mon Mar 18, 2013 now in 2015. The "add to custom database" button is still not working in IES Version 2015 and I can't create a customized weather profile for my project..

Please kindly advise on a fix.

Thank you
AL

(Copied from a similar post in ApacheSim folder)
Apologies that this feature remains broken. We hope to fix it for an upcoming release.

In the meantime you have the option to switch between manually edited .wea files (in project's Apache subfolder).
To check the current .wea file has been correctly formatted, see that ApLocate will open without reporting an error.
