Can't Open Models on My Desktop

When I try and open an IES model on my desktop I get the following error message:
The model file path "C:\Users\rosst.cbg\Desktop\5127-01_06\" includes potentially unsafe characters.

Has anyone been able to fix this?

The same model named '5127-01_06' opens fine from other locations so I am suspicious it is the full stop in the path that causes the issue.

Hi,

Yes it's the decimal point in the path, this isn't allowed inmodel name or filepath in current VE. This restriction should soon eb dropped if all goes to plan but for now you will need ot saveto another location, we generally recommend somewhere on the C: Drive such as C:\VE-Projects

I have also the same problem. But mine doesn't have any decimal point and it is saved directly in C:. After checking the adjacency, the software prompts "Failed to open document". Can you help with it? Btw, I am using the latest version of IES.

Hi Byme_guy,

Does the message only appear for one project? (i.e you can open another project without any issues?)... If so then it may be the project is corrupt and I can only suggest you try and recover from a backup if you have one. If not then have a look over the following FAQ from our knowledge base as it goes over trying to recover from tmp files saved in the backups folder.
