Ehanced Vent in Part L

Post by ColinR »

Hi All,

I know this topic has been mentioned before so bear with me, my understanding of "Enhanced Ventilation" in the DCV options for naturally ventilated spaces is some automated strategy for nat-venting the space, correct?

If so, would the likes of vent-stacks controlled by CO2 and temp sensors fall into this category in our opinion? I am aware of the mono-draught plug-in for modelling stacks, it's more of a general query about the whole "enchanced vent. issue.

Any thoughts?

Cheers,

C

Hi Colin,

Yes, I'd consider that system to come under the definition of "Enhanced Vent".

Cheers John,

I was struggling to get my head around what we could reaonably call "enhanced NV" and what we couldn't. It knocks 50% off so I'd like to be sure i'm correct if I'm going to input it.

Thanks again

I've never found a formal definition of it, but I take it to be any kind of actively controlled natural ventilation system which reacts to CO2 in the winter to ensure adequate levels of fresh air are introduced, but no more.

I can't really see what else it could be.
