Blinds on Internal Glazing

Post by robc »

Hi,

I have a model where there is a room with a window and then a structure aound it similar to a conservatory, i.e. all glass. I am trying to model this window in the room with a blind, but when I go into the Project Constructions and try and introduce a blind the option is grey out. I assume that this is because the window is considered as an 'Internal Window.'

How can I introduce a blind to this window? I would ideally like to put a venetian blind in, such as the one given in Table 8 in the Apache Tables.

Hi,

I don't think you are able to do this using the CDB shading devices  I don't actually know why.

I've seen an alternative solution proposed before where you can add an extra glass layer to the internal window in question and represent the blind via the properties on that pane.

This isn't perfect and there is no way to control/vary it so it would effectively be always down but it lets you get closer than the limitations in CDB shading devices would so it might help.

You could email a feature request to feedback@iesve.com for this...
