I have to run a complete building simulation analysis for a site in Lahore, Punjab, Pakistan.
I am looking to buy for weather files which will run a complete simulation. My professor, who has many years of experience with IES VE, suggested that .epw files do not run the simulation properly (he has had experiences with files he used from energy plus software, in the recent past). Therefore, when .epw file was available for a nearby site was available on energy plus, I was discouraged to use it.
I found files on :
A. http://wxaglobal.com/IES.html as Lahore, Punjab
B. Meteonorm as WMO id 416400
I need help in deciding which
1. source I should buy the file from that will be most suited to use in IES VE. (out of the two formats).
2. if there there is another source which is more apt please refer me to it.
3. which format is best. Will TMY do good?
Thanks.

Re: External Source of Weather files in IES VE
Hi,
We have a few references linked from our Support Centre Weather Files page http://www.iesve.com/support/weatherfiles
We encourage the use of EPW files and have never had any problems with these but it is up to you to review the data you choose to use for your project.
If you are willing to pay then Weather Analytics should be able to provide you with some options to meet your project requirements.
