Transfer construction template between projects

Hi

I have set up a constructions template in one project and would like to access it easily from another project/model but cant seem to locate it on the system.

How do i properly save/export it in one project to open it in a new one without having to re program all the settings one by one?

hi Mac,

In the building template manager you can "import templates". Use that button to navigate tot he project that contains your construction template and import it (copy to project).
You will then be able to assign that template to NEW zones as you draw them (cannot assign a construction template after the event which is a shame).

Thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately when i try to 'import templates'. the templates folder although full of folders (from Apache and ASHRAE to Toolkits and workflow), none of these have content (except other empty folders)
There are four templates available to me other than that list: Commercial, Dometic, Educational and Medical (all .mtd) of course none of these are the templates i have been working on.

Perhaps i havent found the way to properly save the templates yet?

Would the template include all opening types, room attributes, gains etc or just construction anyway?
nonetheless i can't find these other templates anyway
for example i have programed in a daily profile in APpro which i cant access yet in another project.

i have pressed all the save buttons i can find and tried the imports (for different paramenters) through BTM, result -same list of empty folders.

I know i am being simple and shortsighted here as a few years ago i could do this. sorry

question is, having imported ALL templates AND thermal data from previous. do you just go ahead and re-run all the relevant simulations on the new project once you have assigned the templates?

or do you need to locate and delete the irrelevant thermal data -will it just get overwritten?
