Import DWG Files to ModelIT

Post by RossThompson87 »

Hi,

I understand that DXFs are a widely used standard for exchanging data between CAD programs.

However, I would find it very useful if IES could handle the import of a DWG file as well.

I appreciate that AutoCAD can easily convert DWGs into DXFs. However it does take time to do a large number and you are often prompted to revert to DWG when cleaning drawings in AutoCAD, which gets annoying.

To be honest I think that the development team might not head this path since you can use the .dxf. You can use a batch process to get multiple dxfs out. In the meantime I would just export to dxf.
