Hi All,
for Part L/SBEM purposes, how do you model a neighbouring building?
This would be so that the party wall is adiabatic, ie no heat loss.

I've tried using the 'neighbouring building' classification but when I then look at the adjacencies for that relevant wall it is still showing 'external'.

I've done the training and this was never mentioned (like a lot of things).

Right click on the room(s) on the left hand list when you are in ModelIT and go to properties. Then select "Adjacent Building". This should create an adiabatic condition and exclude the building as a thermal zone.

I was expecting the envelope to gain a different classification within the left-hand list. But having done as you say, I now see along the bottom far right under 'Reference' the envelope is classed as Internal Partition, which is correct.

I just needed to know where to look.
