Hi all,

I have corridor that has a window into an adjacent office. however, after doing the simulations i see that light does not seems to enter into the office from the corridors internal windows. Have i missed something obvious.

Mark,

Do you have radiance?

First thing Id do is use ModelViewerII and use the navigation to get inside the building. Enable shadows and animate the sunpath. Now if you can see light entering through the window you know the program is modelling it correctly.

The most obvious question is there a window into the corridor? If there is I would use radiance if you have it, set the sensors to look down the corridor and then use illuminance or luminance to see what light actually gets into the room. I would also do the same looking at the window and you might find out where the light is coming from and or where it is not.

Here you can see the light entering through the windows in my skylight box ( actually modelled as another room )

You could put a sensor in the room and run a dimming calculation to see if there is extra light in the room and if there is it should be working correctly.
